Deeniyath & Moral Instruction Classes
The Muslim Educational Association of Southern India(MEASI) organises deeniyath classes for the students of U.G. and P.G. degree courses in the college. These classes are held biweekly (mondays & tuesdays). All the muslim students are expected to attend these classes regularly.

Moral instruction classes are conducted for other students.

Under the auspices of deeniyath & moral instruction programme common guest lectures are conducted.

Apart from annual examinations, contests and essay writing competitions are conducted every year and prizes are awarded.

Seerath-un-Nabi function is organised every year.

Facilities for the students desiring to learn the correct method of recitation of the holy quran are available biweekly (monday and fridays) in the college mosque between 3.15 p.m. and 4.00 p.m.

The islamic study center organises lectures in english, tamil and urdu on topics of various aspects concerning islam. The center proposes to train speakers who would participate in oratorical contests and seminars on religious subjects conducted by various organisations in the city.

These facilities are offered to the students of The New college in particular and public in general. No fee is charges. Persons interested to avail these facilities are requested to obtain the admission form from the office of the islamic study center.

The islamic study center is managed jointly by the Muslim Educational Association of Southern India(MEASI) and The New college with a view to disseminate knowledge of Islam to those who are interested in the same irrespective of caste,creed and colour. This is an academic and cultural center fostering islamic studies.

The islamic study center library will be kept open from 2.00 p.m to 7.00 p.m on all working days. Books and magazines on various aspects of islam in english, tamil and urdu are available.
